Pēdējo mēnesi, mēs neesam ir slēpjas zem rock. Tur vienkārši nav bijis daudz rakstīt. Protams, mēs varētu būt paziņoja atjauninājumus Alternatīvas saraksts vai runāja par to, kad mēs, ziņas. Bet, mēs neredzēju nu kā viss, kas tēmas. Mēs pat varētu būt lamenting iGoogle nāve vienu gadu, sākot no šodienas. Vietā, mēs turpināsim, lai saglabātu darot to, ko mēs darām, kā iegūt gatavs atdot to, kas var beigties ar to reti kolekcionējamus laupījums pirmajā Saglabāt iGoogle diena rīt!

Diemžēl, mums ir ierobežot laupījums izplatīšanu ASV iedzīvotājiem, bet mēs mudinām ikvienam piedalīties SaveiGoogle dienās. Par iespēju laimēt kādu laupījums laikā novembra Save iGoogle diena noteikumi:

Atpakaļdūriens tikko uzsākusi publiskā beta jau šodien. Nelietojiet sagaidīt daudz vēl. Bet, tas izskatās daudzsološi. Pašlaik tā ir vērsta uz integrētu ziņas, fotogrāfijas, sociālo un iepirkšanās laikā sīkrīkus (modeļus) un lasītājam (pavedieni). Tas ir RSS Feed sīkrīku. Nav mobilais spēja, e-pasts, kalendārs, OPML importa, koplietošanu vai plaša bāze sīkrīkus.

Labi redzēt Google likt savus ievērojamus resursus atbalstīt visus šos lietotājus clamoring "Bacon skaits" vietā iGoogle!

Mēs esam veikuši dažus atjauninājumus, lai mūsu Alternatīvas saraksts. Šis atjauninājums koncentrējas uz pievienojot dažas potenciālās iespējas, novēršot dažas iespējas, un izmaiņas, balstoties uz jūsu ierosinājumiem.

Bez turpmākas kavēšanās, mūsu Alternatīvas saraksts ir pieejams. Lūdzu atzīst tas ir nepabeigts darbs. Mēs vēlētos, lai to pabeigtu pārāk, bet tas prasa laiku, lai identificētu alternatīvus, definēt kritēriju kopums konsekventas vērtēšanas un pilnīgu funkciju pārbaudes un testēšanu pa vairākiem pārlūkprogrammām un operētājsistēmām Daudzi brīvprātīgie stundām dodas uz jaunattīstības salīdzinošo alternatīvas sarakstu.. Līdz šim, mēs esam:

  • identificēti vai saņemti ieteikumi 80 potenciālajiem iGoogle alternatīvas,
  • pārbaudītus un pārbaudītas funkcijas 17 alternatīvas,
  • likvidētas 15 alternatīvas no saraksta dažādu iemeslu dēļ, un
  • strādā 48 citas alternatīvas.

Jo tas nav galīgs, jums nebūs atrast sarakstu par SaveiGoogle.org sitemap vai izvēlni. Sazinieties ar mums ja jūs domājat, ka ir alternatīva mēs izlaista vai funkcija mums jāapsver.

Google rada citu vētra, nogalinot Weather API

Šonedēļ, Next Web ziņoja Google mierīgi nogalināja tas ir Weather API (API ir tas, kas padara Google iGoogle Laika sīkrīku darbu). Vairumam iGoogle lietotāju, nogalinot API nebija liels darījumu. Google mierīgi aizstāt to iGoogle sīkrīku ar vienu no Weather Underground. Tātad, kas ir liels galā?

Pat ja API bija "privāts" un Google bija "kas ar savām tiesībām" pull to bez iepriekšēja brīdinājuma,tas ir atklāts noslēpums, daudzi attīstītāji izmantot to progr, kas vairs darbību. Developers, you may be able to find a suitable replacement API at ProgrammableWeb.

This is another action that gives consumers, developers and enterprise users one more reason to question Google integrity un focus. At SaveiGoogle.org, we know making value judgments are usually a no win situation. Bet, really? Keeping the Weather API and iGoogle, with uses like those noted in the pictured comment from ianray at "Don't take my iGoogle away!", is less important than developing Google+ Hangouts effects? It may be cute and fun, but how does a Chief Technology Officer explain that "iezīme" when describing business benefits of Google+ Hangouts?

P.S. We know, we owe you a list of iGoogle alternatives! The list we're evaluating has grown to over 75! Even if the feature list isn't complete, we'll publish a draft by Tuesday.

  • Keep you informed on Saglabāt iGoogle kampaņu developments.
  • Release an extensive list of iGoogle alternatives by the end of August. The list will include a feature comparison and each alternative has to be multi-platform capable (i.e., multi-browser, multi-OS and multi-hardware).
  • Publish an in-depth review of one or two of those alternatives each week.
  • Continue to scour the Web for stories you may have missed.

There should be no shortage of blogosphere stories. There are plenty of savvy people who like to publish what they're doing. Many of the stories don't have the detail to be included in our "Kā" page and series, but we're finding plenty of creativity.  Without further ado, you may want to check out:

We recognize many users have no interest in spinning up a website whether it be self-hosted, Blogger, Google Sites or otherwise (but these are just ideas, you don't have to try them). Un, if we were Patricia, we would have also talked about pinning browser tabs with Firefox or Chrome (Internet Explorer users can pin to the taskbar in Windows 7, but Safari users are out of luck). As for Flipboard, we enjoy using the "social magazine" app as a leisurely alternative to an RSS Reader, but think Feedly is as good and a better multi-platform alternative since it supports iOS, Android, Chrome, Safari and Firefox (sorry Internet Explorer users).

The “Saglabāt iGoogle kampaņu” Begins

SaveiGoogle.org was conceived at a gathering of friends on the night of the iGoogle retirement announcement and put into motion with a simple page of resources on the following day. We were founded as a community effort, attempting to bring iGoogle users and developers together to Save iGoogle. We provide original content and information from around the Web about iGoogle and personal dashboard alternatives.

Weeks in the making, we announce the launch of the Saglabāt iGoogle kampaņu! We invite everyone to join us in efforts to Save iGoogle and thank you for your help! For iGoogle users, the campaign lists recommended actions and resources and explains monthly iGoogle Blackout Days which will begin on October 1, 2012. For iGoogle developers, several tools are provided at Izstrādātāju rīki, including code for the "Saglabāt iGoogle" ribbon, gadget MiniMessages and iGoogle Blackout Days.

For those who have created "Saglabāt iGoogle" resources that are not mentioned in the campaign, many thanks and please continue your efforts. They won't go unnoticed. As appropriate, we'll make note in our blog, resources page, how to page or other content.
